Through a logo rooted in symbolism and illustrations of native species, this project brings to life the vibrant story of wildlife thriving within ADCF.
When Harold first asked me to create a logo, I thought it was just for a small project at PEF, until he sent me the event briefer and I realized it was for the Ayala Land Davao Carbon Forest. Naturally, I felt the pressure of capturing the essence and purpose of ADCF in a single logo.
Inspired by a tree sapling and a bird in flight, the logo reflects the growing partnership between PEF and Ayala Land to restore urban forest that captures carbon, supports wildlife, and provides a peaceful space for people.
In addition, I had the opportunity to illustrate nine wildlife species, both flora and fauna, found in the Ayala Land Davao Carbon Forest, namely: the Brahminy Kite, Everett's Scops Owl, Black-faced Coucal, Philippine Box Turtle, Civet Cat, Greater Musky Fruit Bat, Antipolo, Tangisang Bayawak, and Bakan.
Some of the species found at ADCF I illustrated.
Extending my heartfelt gratitude to Harold and Almae of the Philippine Eagle Foundation for entrusting me with this project. It’s an honor to be part of this momentous collaboration between Philippine Eagle Foundation and Ayala Land through the logo and illustrations of the wildlife species thriving in this urban forest patch.
